Luscious Lovely Lady Lashes

I’m sure you’ve seen the ads. Something along the lines of, “transforms your lashes into long and voluminous superstar lashes”, or something that “mimics the effect of false eyelashes without the effort and the glue”. Apparently, we all want lashes the size of Texas. The type of lashes that cause wind storms when we bat an eye. I don’t know about all of you, but I do.

I often layer my mascaras for a customized look, since most of them are either lengthening or volumizing, and I find that mixing two of them together gives the best of both worlds. I want my lashes to make me wide-eyed everyday, and I have never cared to try false lashes.

That leaves me with lash enhancing serums, and other makeup techniques (that I will elaborate on in a further blog post).

I am not a huge believer that any product can really enhance your lashes, so I was hesitant to invest in anything. I had heard a lot of good things about the Talika Eyelash Lipocils, available on Sephora’s website and in store, but I wasn’t ready to invest the $50 it costs here in Canada, just yet.

If you’ve read my blog post about mascaras, you know I am a fan of Physician’s Formula products. I noticed, while I was in the drugstore, that they had an Eye Booster 2-in-1 Day & Night Lash Boosting Serum. It was on sale, at the time, for $12.99 at Shoppers Drug Mart. Not only this, but the product had a full-price rebate! I had received my full rebate for the mascara, so I figured this would be a win-win! Even if I didn’t like the product, I’d still get my money back, so why not!? So you guessed it, I bought it. What does this product claim to do? Well, word for word, it claims it “visibly enhances natural lash growth while nourishing and conditioning lashes”. It works by “target[ing] the root of lashes where it is most effective in providing nutrients associated with growing long, thick lashes”. According to the box, “87% of Women saw Longer Lashes” after 3 weeks. Keep reading for my experiences with the product so far.

I decided to take some photos of my lashes before, so I can show you the progress (if there is any) of my lash growth. My lashes are pretty awesome already, but I find they tend to be longer than thicker, and I’d hope for this to help enhance the thickness.

I’ve had this product for three weeks so far. So here are some updated photos of what my lashes look like currently. Note that I’ve only been using them on my upper lashes, day and night. Since the formula is clear, I can use it under eye liner.

3 weeks of Eye Booster Serum

After three weeks of using this product day and night, I do feel I have noticed a slight increase in the thickness of my lashes. It almost looks like I’ve got eyeliner on when I don’t, and there has definitely been less

fall-out and loss of lashes. There has been, for the most part, no increase in the length of my lashes. I have noticed a few stray super long lashes, which are kind of awkward looking, but nothing major.

I will probably use this product for another 2-3 weeks, and I will

be sure to note any changes that may occur. I wish I had taken a better “before” picture, it really doesn’t show off my lashes too well, and the lower lashes give the illusion of longer upper lashes.

I’ll check out the Talika Lipocils next, and be sure to do a review.

Before you go, check out these awesome new glasses I ordered from ClearlyContacts! They’ve got a 57% off sale, at the moment. Go get your new pair! ๐Ÿ™‚
